Sonya Goddy is a New Yorker and the proud owner of a 1995 Toyota Camry. This year, she will graduate Columbia University’s Film MFA program with awards in both directing and screenwriting, including the Adrienne Shelly Foundation’s Best Female Director award for her short film “Sundae,“ and the Zaki Gordon Award for Excellence in Screenwriting for her feature script “Strangers.” Her short films have been distributed by Shorts International and iTunes, and her writing was nominated for a Student Academy Award in 2014. “Sundae” makes its festival premiere at the 2015 New York Film Festival.
Sheis currently in post-production on her first feature film, “Holy New York”, a doomed love comedy that also explores the changing economic landscape of the city, and the cultural losses that New York has experienced as a result. She lives in Brooklyn between a garbage dump and a kombucha factory.
