maryam keshavarzSince winning the Adrienne Shelley Award- Maryam Keshavarz has been busy. In 2011 & 2012, her Adrienne Shelley supported first feature CIRCUMSTANCE won critical acclaim garnering over a dozens of festival awards including the Audience Award at Sundance, the Audience & Best Actress Award at Outfest, the Best First Feature at Rome International Film Festival, among others, and was theatrically released in thirteen countries. CIRCUMSTANCE presently has an 86% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

For Maryam’s sophomore feature she will co-write and direct the narrative adaptation of the award winning HBO documentary HOT COFFEE. The narrative adaptation is presently entitled The Untitled Oliver Diaz Story and is slated for production in Winter 2015/16. Already in development for her third feature film entitled THE LAST HAREM, Maryam has garnered several high profile awards for the project including the Hearst Screenwriters Grant, the San Francisco Film Society/ KRF Screenwriting Award, the prestigious Creative Capital Fund, and invitation to the Yaddo Writers Residency.

Maryam was recently featured in Maureen Dowd’s NY Times Magazine piece, The Women of Hollywood Speak Out.

Academy Award nominated producers Anna Gerb, Neal Dodson, JC Chandor (Margin Call, All is Lost, A Most Violent Year) have come on board to produce Maryam’s sophomore feature The Untitled Oliver and Jennifer Diaz Story. The narrative feature is based on the award winning HBO doc Hot CoffeeThe Untitled Oliver and Jennifer Diaz Story is slated to shoot in 2016.
